     A logon management software application is executed in a print control device (4) connectable to an information processing device (1), and performs the steps of: detecting if a hardware keyboard (38) is connected to the print control device during a logon process; displaying on a display (35) a first logon GUI for using the connected hardware keyboard if the connection of the hardware keyboard is detected; displaying on the display a second logon GUI, different to the first logon GUI, if the connection of the hardware keyboard is not detected; and controlling a logon of the print control device based on information entered into the first and/or second logon GUI dependent on whether the connection of the hardware keyboard is detected during at least part of the logon process.

A search parameter associated with an option to search for messages of a specified type is provided, and more specifically, an option to search for messages (e.g. electronic mail messages) having one or more attachments is made available to the user.

  • Method of displaying interactive effects in web camera communication

     To allow for greater interactivity in video chat environments, displaying multiple effects from a sender of a first electronic device to a chat client of a second electronic device on a video chat region starts with the sender selecting an effect. If the selected effect has a predetermined mapping interactive effect, the interactive effect is displayed on the chat client. Then, the sender applies the effect or the interactive effect to an application region of the video chat region of the chat client. The application region is a partial or an entire region of the video chat region.

  • Fast characterization of fluid dynamics

     Methods and apparatus for fast computation of fluid velocity fields in the presence of objects causing flow discontinuity are disclosed. Rigorous evaluation of perturbed velocity fields, each resulting from placing an object in a bounded space sustaining a reference velocity field, are determined for different orientations of the object with respect to a reference velocity field and different values of the magnitude of the velocity field. A velocity field is determined at selected sampling points within an enclosure surrounding the object. Pre-computed perturbed velocity fields determined for each object of a set of reference objects are stored in a computer memory. Fast real-time computation of velocity-field perturbations caused by presence of objects at arbitrary positions in a space sustaining velocity fields of different magnitudes and directions are realized using the stored pre-computed data.

  • Open area maps

     Systems and methods associated with an open area map are disclosed. For example, one method comprises obtaining an image of a layout. The layout represents a real-world area in which a person moves about. A grid is applied on the image. The grid includes tiles that fill in a ground area of the image. A routable map is generated as a function of the grid. The routable map is configured to provide point-to-point routing within the layout.

  • Image processing method and apparatus and information storage medium storing image information

     An image processing method and apparatus for automatically rotating an image and a display unit, and an information storage medium storing image information. The apparatus including a photographing unit which generates image data and a rotation sensing unit which generates rotational information of a rotation state of the photographing unit. When an object is photographed, the rotation information of the image is obtained and stored together, and when the image is displayed, the rotation is analyzed and the image and display unit are automatically rotated. When an image including moving picture information is watched, an image always optimized to be horizontal without additional work by a user can be seen.

  • Raw image processing

     A system, a method and computer-readable media for processing raw image data with a graphics processing unit (GPU). Raw image data generated by an imaging sensor is received. A set of instructions for demosaicing the raw image data is communicated to the GPU. The GPU is enabled to demosaic the raw image data by executing the set of instructions.

     An image processing apparatus includes: a table generation unit that generates a table in which a coefficient set including predetermined weighting coefficients and pixels contained in a resolution converted image are related to each other on the basis of a size of an input image and a size of a resolution converted image; a coefficient selecting unit that selects a coefficient set to be applied for a calculation of a pixel value in the resolution converted image out of plural coefficient sets on the basis of a table generated by the table generation unit; and a pixel value calculating unit that calculates pixel values to be used in the resolution converted image resulting from the resolution conversion of the input image on the basis of the coefficient set selected by the coefficient selecting unit and plural pixel values contained in the input image.
